EdCamp

I got the pleasure of attended EdCamp Florence last Saturday, March 5.  It was a great experience and a lot of fun.  The "unconference" as they like to call it, consists of anyone that would like to present something signing up for a time slot and attendees choosing which sessions they want to attend.

I learned a lot and even got to meet one of my AUM teachers from last semester, Mr. George!  He presented Symbaloo and informed us about the new lesson plan feature Symbaloo has added.  I also attended a Mystery Skype session.  It was very informative, and even though I don't teach geography, I want to find a class to have a Skype session with!  I also learned about Desmos which I have shared with my math cohort in sixth grade.  We played a game in which I had to find a parabola that Linda had chosen by asking questions about it.  I haven't studied parabolas since undergraduate school in 2005!  I guessed her parabola in two questions.  She was amazed that I remembered the aspects of them!  (Quite frankly, I was surprised I remembered myself! haha)

I encourage everyone to attend an EdCamp near you.  It was a lot of fun and a lot of learning!
